y wife was diagnosed with an MRSA infection less than a month after she gave birth to our son back in August 2006. It was a severe case and ended up in her bloodstream. The severity of the infection caused her to go into septic shock and she almost died. As you can imagine it was a very distressing time for the both of us. She was only 34 yrs old and prior to that had been in great health, exercising regularly and following a healthy diet. There had been no previous history of this illness in our family or any of our relations.

When my wife gave birth to my daughter, her vaginal wall suffered a small tear which was stitched up. Coincidentally, that's how the MRSA infection began. She was in an intensive care unit for about 3 weeks. She received an intravenous antibiotic treatment in her left wrist which was improperly administered and resulted in a hematoma that caused her to have permanent scarring and discolouring.

She then received vancomycin in the hospital and was home nursed once she returned home. Sadly much of her breast tissue was also affected from the infection resulting in much of it being removed. It’s now been over a year and she still hasn't fully recovered. I've talked to several solicitors and nobody is interested in assisting us. I don't know if there's anything we can do.

I’ve read many horrible stories such as this of people who have suffered from MRSA related infections and many of them have suffered deeply.
